Yetzone S 750MG Injection combines ceftriaxone and sulbactam and is given for infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Main uses: treatment of lower respiratory tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria; treatment of acute bacterial otitis media caused by susceptible bacteria; used only for infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria.

Common side effects of Yetzone S 750MG Injection include pain, tenderness or induration at the injection site; phlebitis after intravenous use; diarrhoea or loose stools; rash; nausea or vomiting; rise in liver enzymes (AST, ALT). Get medical help at once if you notice serious and occasionally fatal hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis; severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome; pseudomembranous colitis during or after treatment.

In this formulation, ceftriaxone acts as a cephalosporin antibiotic that disrupts the bacterial cell wall and destroys susceptible bacteria. Sulbactam supports its action by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes, which some bacteria produce to inactivate antibiotics, allowing ceftriaxone to remain active against such strains.

Must not be used in patients with a history of serious hypersensitivity reactions, such as anaphylaxis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome, to ceftriaxone, sulbactam or any other cephalosporin or beta-lactam antibiotic. Must not be used in premature neonates up to a post-menstrual age of 41 weeks. Must not be used in hyperbilirubinaemic neonates. Must not be used in neonates who require or are expected to require calcium-containing intravenous solutions, and must not be mixed or given together with calcium-containing intravenous solutions such as Ringer's solution or Hartmann's solution. Check with a doctor first if there is a history of penicillin or other beta-lactam allergy, since these patients need careful assessment and the injection must be given with caution, or if there are liver or kidney problems, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
