About the product
By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references
An injection from Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division, Evertacef S 1.5GM Injection holds Ceftriaxone 1 gm and Sulbactam 500 mg as its two ingredients. The medicine is grouped under Antibiotic and Anti-Infective (Antibacterial), and it comes packed as 1's.
How it acts is straightforward. Ceftriaxone, a cephalosporin antibiotic, blocks the formation of the bacterial cell wall so the bacteria cannot multiply. Sulbactam works alongside it as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, neutralising the enzymes that some bacteria produce to break down antibiotics and so helping Ceftriaxone remain useful against those bacteria.
The injection is meant for susceptible bacterial infections, among them lower respiratory tract infections, acute bacterial otitis media, skin and skin structure infections, intra-abdominal infections and gynaecological infections.
Given only by a doctor or nurse.
