About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Sold as Predijem 8, these tablets from Vibcare Pharma contain Methylprednisolone 8 mg. The medicine belongs to the corticosteroid class (Steroid & Hormone), comes packed as 10x15 (Alu Alu) and is supplied from Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division.

How it works

Methylprednisolone is a man-made form of cortisol, the hormone the adrenal glands release naturally. In the body it acts to lower inflammation and to moderate an overactive immune response, and that is how it works in the disorders for which it is prescribed.

Used for

Predijem 8 tablets are prescribed for hormone-related conditions such as adrenocortical insufficiency, congenital adrenal hyperplasia and nonsuppurative thyroiditis, as short-term adjunctive therapy in rheumatic disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and acute gouty arthritis, in collagen diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus and dermatomyositis, and in severe skin and allergic states that are not controlled by usual treatment. Also note that corticosteroids can conceal the signs of infection, and infections that begin during use can become severe and at times fatal.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
