Egaflox 200 tablets carry Ofloxacin 200 mg and are used to treat mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Main uses: mild to moderate infections in adults caused by bacteria that are sensitive to ofloxacin; acute bacterial flare-ups of long-term bronchitis caused by Haemophilus influenzae or Streptococcus pneumoniae, only when no other treatment option is available; community-acquired pneumonia caused by Haemophilus influenzae or Streptococcus pneumoniae; uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections caused by susceptible bacteria such as methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes or Proteus mirabilis; uncomplicated infections of the urinary tract caused by susceptible bacteria.

Common side effects of Egaflox 200 Tablet include nausea; headache; difficulty sleeping (insomnia); dizziness; diarrhoea; vomiting.

Each Egaflox 200 tablet contains Ofloxacin 200 mg. The right dose and how long to take it depend on the condition, age and other medicines, so use Egaflox 200 Tablet only as your doctor advises.

Ofloxacin, the ingredient in every tablet, stops bacteria from copying and repairing their DNA, so they cannot multiply and the infection is brought under control. Ofloxacin 200 mg works on bacteria that are sensitive to it. It does not help with infections caused by viruses, such as flu or the common cold.

Must not be used by anyone with a previous allergy to ofloxacin or to any quinolone antibiotic. Must not be used by people with a known history of myasthenia gravis. Must not be used again in anyone who has had tendon, nerve or central nervous system reactions to a fluoroquinolone. Check with a doctor first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney disease, epilepsy, a tendon disorder, or a heart rhythm problem. Stop the medicine and contact a doctor immediately at the first sign of tendon pain, numbness or tingling in limbs, or unusual mood or sleep changes.
