Rosuvib 20 tablets by Vibcare Pharma supply Rosuvastatin 20 mg to reduce raised LDL cholesterol and cardiovascular risk. Main uses: to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in adults with primary hyperlipidemia, along with diet; to reduce LDL-C and slow the progression of atherosclerosis in adults; to reduce LDL-C in adults and children aged 8 years and above with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH); as an add-on to other LDL-C-lowering therapy, or alone when such therapy is not available, in adults and children aged 7 years and above with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH); along with diet in adults with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia.

Common side effects of Rosuvib 20 Tablet include headache; nausea; muscle pain (myalgia); weakness (asthenia); constipation; stomach pain. Get medical help at once if you notice muscle breakdown (myopathy and rhabdomyolysis), rarely with kidney problems; liver problems, including rare cases of liver failure; severe allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, lips or throat (angioedema).

The tablet acts on the liver enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, the first step in the body's production of cholesterol. By holding back this step, rosuvastatin reduces the amount of cholesterol the liver makes and increases the removal of LDL from the circulation. The result is a drop in LDL-C levels, with slower build-up of fatty deposits in the arteries when the tablet is taken with diet.

Must not be used by patients with acute liver failure or decompensated cirrhosis. Must not be used by patients allergic to rosuvastatin or any ingredient of the tablet. Must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
