About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Rosuvib 5 is a tablet made by Vibcare Pharma. Each tablet carries Rosuvastatin 5 mg as its active ingredient. It falls in the statin class of medicines, which act on cholesterol made in the liver. The product is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu) and comes from Vibcare Pharma's division.

How it works

Rosuvastatin works by blocking HMG-CoA reductase, the liver enzyme that helps build cholesterol. When this enzyme is held back, the liver makes less cholesterol and pulls more LDL cholesterol out of the blood, so LDL levels come down. Slower cholesterol build-up also helps slow the progression of atherosclerosis, the narrowing of arteries caused by fatty deposits. The medicine is meant to be taken along with a proper diet and regular exercise, as advised by the treating doctor, and its effect is usually checked with lipid blood tests during follow-up visits.

Used for

Rosuvib 5 is used with diet to lower LDL cholesterol in adults with primary hyperlipidaemia, to slow the progression of atherosclerosis, in heterozygous and homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia, and in adults with primary dysbetalipoproteinaemia or hypertriglyceridaemia; it is also used to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults at increased risk.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
