Description

Made by Vibcare Pharma, Cefdolam CV (10 Pack) is a tablet that combines Cefpodoxime 200 mg with Clavulanic Acid 125 mg. It is an antibiotic of the cephalosporin group together with a beta-lactamase inhibitor. The packing is 10x10 (Alu Alu), and the brand is part of Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division.

How it works

The action of the tablet comes from its two parts. Cefpodoxime targets susceptible bacteria by preventing them from completing their cell wall, and the bacteria die as a result. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor; it shuts out the bacterial enzymes that break down antibiotics, so cefpodoxime can act on bacteria that produce such enzymes.

Used for

Doctors use these tablets for mild to moderate infections such as pharyngitis and tonsillitis, acute otitis media, community-acquired pneumonia, and acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis caused by susceptible bacteria.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
