Description

Cefponor CV is a tablet from Vibcare Pharma that gives Cefpodoxime 200 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg per tablet. It is an antibiotic product that combines a cephalosporin antibiotic with a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu) and belongs to Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division.

How it works

Two ingredients work together in this formulation. Cefpodoxime is the antibiotic part; by stopping susceptible bacteria from building their cell wall, it brings about the death of the bacteria. Clavulanic Acid is the beta-lactamase inhibitor part; it blocks the bacterial enzymes that break down antibiotics, so cefpodoxime remains active against bacteria that make those enzymes.

Used for

Cefponor CV is used in mild to moderate bacterial infections, among them pharyngitis and tonsillitis, acute otitis media, community-acquired pneumonia, and acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis caused by susceptible organisms.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
