Description

Candilzo 100 (blister) is a capsule form of itraconazole, with 100 mg in each capsule. It belongs to the azole group of antifungal medicines. The pack is 10x4 (Blister) and it is marketed by Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division.

How it works

The medicine inhibits the production of ergosterol, a component of the fungal cell membrane. Fungi need ergosterol to keep their membranes stable, so with its supply cut off the membrane is disrupted and the fungus cannot multiply. Each capsule contains 100 mg of itraconazole.

Used for

It is used for blastomycosis, histoplasmosis and aspergillosis, and also for fungal infections of the skin and nails caused by dermatophytes or yeasts. Itraconazole can bring on or worsen heart failure and can cause serious liver damage; swelling, breathlessness, unusual tiredness, yellowing of the skin or dark urine call for prompt medical assessment.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
