Description

Levovib Syrup is an oral liquid medicine made by Vibcare Pharma. It contains Levocetirizine 2.5 mg, which belongs to the anti-allergic and anti-histamine class of medicines. It is packed as 60ml and comes from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.

How it works

The syrup works through Levocetirizine, the active form of cetirizine, which selectively blocks histamine H1 receptors in the body. Histamine is the substance released during an allergic reaction that leads to sneezing, a runny nose, watery eyes, itching and hives. By blocking its action at these receptors, Levocetirizine helps to ease these allergy signs so that the person feels more comfortable during an allergic episode.

Used for

Levovib Syrup is used for relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, runny nose and itchy, watery eyes, and for the skin signs of chronic idiopathic urticaria such as itching and hives. Patients with factors that can lead to urinary retention, such as a spinal cord lesion or enlarged prostate, should use it only after checking with a doctor, and the medicine must be stopped if urinary retention develops. As drowsiness can occur, driving or operating machinery must be avoided, and alcohol or other central nervous system depressants should be avoided while taking it.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
