ROSIVER 20 ROSUVASTATIN 20mg. IP

Rosiver 20 tablets contain Rosuvastatin 20 mg, a statin used to lower high cholesterol and related cardiovascular risk. Main uses: to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in adults with primary hyperlipidemia, along with diet; to reduce LDL-C and slow the progression of atherosclerosis in adults; to reduce LDL-C in adults and children aged 8 years and above with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH); as an add-on to other LDL-C-lowering therapy, or alone when such therapy is not available, in adults and children aged 7 years and above with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH); along with diet in adults with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia.

Common side effects of Rosiver 20 Tablet include headache; nausea; muscle pain (myalgia); weakness (asthenia); constipation; stomach pain. Get medical help at once if you notice muscle breakdown (myopathy and rhabdomyolysis), rarely with kidney problems; liver problems, including rare cases of liver failure; severe allergic reactions such as swelling of the face, lips or throat (angioedema).

Rosuvastatin works by blocking HMG-CoA reductase, the liver enzyme that starts the process of making cholesterol. When this step is slowed, the liver produces less cholesterol and takes up more LDL from the blood. In this way LDL-C levels fall, triglycerides may come down and atherosclerosis progression can be slowed along with diet and exercise.

Must not be used by patients with acute liver failure or decompensated cirrhosis. Must not be used by patients allergic to rosuvastatin or any ingredient of the tablet. Must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Check with a doctor first if you have kidney problems, uncontrolled thyroid disease, a history of muscle problems, or if you are 65 years or older.
