About the product

Description

A broad-spectrum, bactericidal antibiotic medicine that prevents a wide variety of bacterial infections. An aminoglycoside derived from sisomicin is active against most gram-negative and some gram-positive bacteria, including many gentamicin-resistant strains. (D M Campoli-Richards, 1989) Substantially more active against isolates of Serratia marcescens, Enterobacter species than gentamicin, sisomicin, tobramycin, or amikacin. (D Stewart, 1977) Has a generally broader antibacterial spectrum than gentamicin, tobramycin, sisomicin or dibekacin. (Noone, 1984) A valuable drug for gram-negative infections of the urinary tract, skin and skin structure, lower respiratory tract, intra-abdominal infections, as well as in septicemia. (D M Campoli-Richards, 1989) Inhibits the growth of all gentamicin-resistant isolates of Klebsiella and Citrobacter. (K P Fu, 1976) A safe and efficient aminoglycoside with a low rate of adverse effects. (P Henriksson, 1980) An effective antibacterial drug for the parenteral treatment of severe infections. (D M Campoli-Richards, 1989) The most useful and effective new antibiotic for the treatment of severe gram-negative sepsis. (B A Peddie, 1980) Significantly less ototoxic and nephrotoxic than other clinically available aminoglycosides. (B A Peddie, 1980) More effective agent than cefotaxime for treating life-threatening infections with susceptible Enterobacteriaceae or Staphylococci, particularly with infection in non-urinary tract sites. (R Sage, 1987)
