Description

A tablet for oral use, Moxyhil CV 375 (10 Pack) carries Amoxycillin 250 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg per tablet. Made by Vibcare Pharma, it is placed in the class of penicillin antibacterials with a beta-lactamase inhibitor. The pack is 10x10 (Alu Alu), and the product is from Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division.

How it works

Amoxycillin performs the antibacterial action here, denying bacteria the cell wall they need to live and multiply. Clavulanic Acid plays a defensive role: it neutralises the beta-lactamase enzyme that some bacteria manufacture in order to deactivate amoxycillin. Because of this second ingredient, the tablet can act on bacteria that produce this enzyme.

Used for

The tablet is intended for infections due to susceptible bacteria: lower respiratory tract infections, acute bacterial otitis media, sinusitis, skin and skin structure infections and urinary tract infections. It should be avoided in patients with mononucleosis.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.

Uses

Precautions

Do not use

  • Must not be used (avoid) in patients with mononucleosis, as a skin rash often occurs in these patients
