Description

Yetomox CV 375 (10 Pack), offered by Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division, is a tablet combining Amoxycillin 250 mg with Clavulanic Acid 125 mg. It belongs to the class of penicillin antibacterials combined with a beta-lactamase inhibitor. The pack is 10x10 (Alu Alu).

How it works

Working in tandem, the ingredients give this tablet its effect. Clavulanic Acid first shuts down the beta-lactamase enzyme made by certain bacteria as a form of resistance. Amoxycillin then carries out the antibacterial task, as bacteria are unable to form their cell wall and grow without it being active.

Used for

Prescribed use of the tablet is for susceptible bacterial infections, namely lower respiratory tract infections, acute bacterial otitis media, sinusitis, skin and skin structure infections and urinary tract infections.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.

Uses

  • Lower respiratory tract infections caused by susceptible beta-lactamase-producing isolates of Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis
  • Acute bacterial otitis media caused by susceptible beta-lactamase-producing isolates of H. influenzae and M. catarrhalis
  • Sinusitis caused by susceptible beta-lactamase-producing isolates of H. influenzae and M. catarrhalis
  • Skin and skin structure infections caused by susceptible beta-lactamase-producing isolates of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella species
  • Urinary tract infections caused by susceptible beta-lactamase-producing isolates of E. coli, Klebsiella species and Enterobacter species
  • Should not be used when test results show the bacteria are already susceptible to amoxycillin alone

Precautions

Do not use

  • Must not be used by anyone who has had a serious hypersensitivity reaction, such as anaphylaxis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome, to amoxycillin, clavulanic acid or other beta-lactam antibacterials like penicillins and cephalosporins
  • Must not be used by anyone who has had cholestatic jaundice or liver dysfunction with this combination before
  • Must not be used (avoid) in patients with mononucleosis, as a skin rash often occurs in these patients

Ask a doctor first

  • Check with a doctor first if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of penicillin allergy
