Description

An oral tablet from Vibcare Pharma, Jemazi 500 delivers Azithromycin 500mg in every tablet as its active ingredient. It belongs to the antibiotic and anti-infective class, more specifically the macrolide antibacterial group. The tablets are packed as 5x6x5 (Blister) and the brand comes from Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division.

How it works

Susceptible bacteria depend on protein-making to stay alive and multiply. Azithromycin, the macrolide antibacterial in this tablet, gets in the way of that process, so the bacteria weaken and the infection is handled by the body's own defences.

Used for

Doctors use Jemazi 500 for mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria: community-acquired pneumonia in adults and patients 6 months of age and older, pharyngitis and tonsillitis in adults and patients 2 years of age and older, acute bacterial sinusitis in adults, acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis in adults, uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections in adults, urethritis and cervicitis in adults, and genital ulcer disease in men. A doctor should be consulted first in heart rhythm disorders, liver disease, myasthenia gravis or cardiovascular conditions, and the potential cardiovascular risk should be weighed against the treatment benefit.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
