Read our full guide: Cefpodoxime: uses, dose, side effects and brands
Cefdojem 200 is supplied as tablets, with each tablet carrying Cefpodoxime 200 mg. Cefpodoxime is an antibiotic of the cephalosporin group. The medicine is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu) and is marketed by Vibcare Pharma through its Auspin division.
Each tablet releases Cefpodoxime, which interferes with the building of the bacterial cell wall. Bacteria that cannot complete their cell walls are unable to grow and spread, which allows the body to deal with the infection. Only bacteria susceptible to this antibiotic are affected.
Cefdojem 200 is used for mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including acute otitis media, pharyngitis and tonsillitis due to Streptococcus pyogenes, community-acquired pneumonia and acute bacterial worsening of chronic bronchitis.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
