Read our full guide: Cefpodoxime: uses, dose, side effects and brands
Odoxicef 100 is the brand name of a tablet from Vibcare Pharma. Every tablet delivers Cefpodoxime 100 mg, which falls under the cephalosporin class of antibacterial medicines. The product comes packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu) from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.
The ingredient in Odoxicef 100, cefpodoxime, interferes with the building of the bacterial cell wall. Bacteria that cannot complete this wall cannot survive or reproduce, which allows the infection to resolve. No other active ingredient is present.
Doctors prescribe it for mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria: acute otitis media, pharyngitis and/or tonsillitis, community-acquired pneumonia and acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis. Severe or persistent diarrhoea during or after the course needs medical attention at once, since it may point to C. difficile-associated colitis.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
