Description

Cefdolam 100 Dry Syrup (WFR) is a dry syrup produced by Vibcare Pharma, containing Cefpodoxime 100mg. It is a cephalosporin antibiotic within the Antibiotic & Anti-Infective (Antibacterial) category, and it is supplied in a pack of 30ml from Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division.

How it works

Its active substance, Cefpodoxime, works by disturbing the formation of the bacterial cell wall. Bacteria that are sensitive to the medicine lose their protective wall and die off, so the infection is brought under control. Illnesses caused by viruses are not helped by this antibiotic.

Used for

The syrup is used for mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria, such as acute otitis media, throat and tonsil infection, community-acquired pneumonia and acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
