Made by Vibcare Pharma, Odoxicef 100 WFR Dry Syrup is a dry syrup containing Cefpodoxime 100mg. It belongs to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics and is classified under Antibiotic & Anti-Infective (Antibacterial). The product comes packed as 30ml from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.
Cefpodoxime, the active part of this syrup, blocks the step bacteria use to make a cell wall. A bacterium without a firm wall cannot survive, so the organisms sensitive to this antibiotic are cleared from the body. Infections caused by viruses do not respond to it.
This syrup is used for mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria, such as acute otitis media, throat and tonsil infection caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, community-acquired pneumonia and acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
