Description

Made by Vibcare Pharma, Cefponor 100 is a tablet preparation with Cefpodoxime 100 mg as its active substance. Cefpodoxime belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibacterial medicines. The pack size is 10x1x10 (Alu Alu), and the product is offered from Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division.

How it works

Inside the body, cefpodoxime stops bacteria from assembling their cell wall. Since the cell wall is what keeps a bacterium together and lets it multiply, the susceptible organisms are weakened and cleared. Each tablet provides this one ingredient at 100 mg.

Used for

Cefponor 100 is used to treat mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including acute otitis media, pharyngitis and tonsillitis, community-acquired pneumonia and acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis. Should diarrhoea be severe or continue, see a doctor promptly, as it may be a C. difficile-associated colitis.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
