PANTALAM 40 PANTOPRAZOLE 40mg. IP

Pantalam 40 tablets provide Pantoprazole 40 mg for erosive esophagitis and excess stomach acid. Main uses: short-term treatment of erosive oesophagitis (acid damage to the food pipe) linked with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults and children five years and older; healing of the inflamed food pipe and relief of reflux symptoms such as heartburn in GERD; maintenance of healing of erosive oesophagitis and reduction of daytime and nighttime heartburn in adults with GERD; long-term treatment of conditions in which the stomach secretes too much acid, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Common side effects of Pantalam 40 Tablet include headache; diarrhoea; nausea; abdominal pain; vomiting; flatulence (gas). Get medical help at once if you notice acute tubulointerstitial nephritis (kidney inflammation) — stop the medicine and consult a doctor; severe skin reactions or other signs of allergy — stop and seek medical help; clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea.

The pantoprazole in this tablet binds to the enzyme system that pumps acid into the stomach and blocks that final step of acid production. Must not be used by patients with known allergy to pantoprazole, any component of the tablet, or any substituted benzimidazole. Must not be used by patients taking rilpivirine-containing products.
