About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Pantavib Injection is an injectable medicine from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division. Each unit contains Pantoprazole 40 mg. It belongs to the gastro class of proton pump inhibitors (anti-ulcerants). The product is packed as 1's.

How it works

Pantoprazole works at the acid-secreting cells of the stomach lining, where it blocks the acid pump called (H+,K+)-ATPase. By stopping this final step of acid production, it lowers both resting and stimulated stomach acid secretion, and the effect lasts longer than 24 hours. Lower acid levels give the inflamed or damaged lining of the oesophagus and stomach a chance to settle while the underlying condition is managed.

Used for

This injection is used in adults for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and a history of erosive esophagitis for up to 10 days, and for pathological hypersecretory conditions including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
