Description

Everkast LC Kid Tab is a tablet from Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division. Each tablet provides Levocetirizine 2.5 mg with Montelukast Sodium 4 mg and is classified as an antihistamine with a leukotriene blocker. The product is packed as 10x10 (Alu Alu).

How it works

The action of the tablet comes from two ingredients working on different parts of the allergic response. Levocetirizine blocks histamine at H1 receptors and so eases sneezing, a runny nose, watery eyes and itching. Montelukast Sodium blocks cysteinyl leukotrienes, chemicals released in the nasal lining and airways that cause swelling, extra mucus and tightening of the breathing passages. With histamine and leukotriene activity both reduced, the tablet supports control of allergic symptoms through the day.

Used for

Used in children, Everkast LC Kid Tab is meant for relief of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis symptoms when other therapies have not been adequate or are not tolerated, and for prevention and chronic treatment of asthma in children 2 years of age and older. Montelukast has been linked with serious neuropsychiatric events such as agitation, aggression, depression, disturbed sleep or suicidal thoughts, which must be reported to the doctor promptly.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
