Description

The brand Montijem LC is a tablet of Vibcare Pharma, containing Montelukast Sodium 10 mg and Levocetirizine 5 mg. It is grouped under the anti-allergic and anti-histamine class. This item is packed as 10x15 (Alu Alu) and it is marketed through Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division.

How it works

In this tablet, Montelukast Sodium blocks leukotriene receptors in the airways and nose, so the swelling, mucus and tightening seen in allergic airway conditions are reduced. Levocetirizine blocks histamine at H1 receptors, giving relief from sneezing, watery eyes, itching and hives. The two actions complement each other in the same tablet.

Used for

Montijem LC is used for the prevention and long-term control of asthma symptoms and for prevention of exercise-induced breathing difficulty. Warn the doctor about any mood or behaviour change, as montelukast has been associated with serious neuropsychiatric events such as agitation, depression, sleep disturbances and suicidal thoughts or behaviour. For seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis symptoms, use is limited to patients who get no relief from or cannot take other treatments.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
