Description

Available from Vibcare Pharma's Auspin division, Montijem LC Kid is a tablet for children. Every tablet carries Levocetirizine 2.5 mg and Montelukast Sodium 4 mg, a combination of an antihistamine and a leukotriene blocker. It is supplied as packed 10x10 (Alu Alu).

How it works

In this tablet, Levocetirizine stops histamine from acting at H1 receptors, so allergy signs like sneezing, a runny nose, itchy eyes and itching become less troublesome. Montelukast Sodium works on the second pathway by blocking cysteinyl leukotrienes in the nasal passages and airways, chemicals that lead to swelling, mucus and tightening of the breathing tubes. Working on these two separate steps of the allergic reaction, the tablet helps keep allergic nose and airway symptoms in check.

Used for

This tablet is given for relief of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis symptoms in children only when other therapies have not worked well or are not tolerated, and for prevention and chronic treatment of asthma in children 2 years of age and older. Serious neuropsychiatric events like agitation, aggression, depression, disturbed sleep or suicidal thoughts have been reported with Montelukast, so any such change must be reported to the doctor at once.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
