Mefojem P DS Suspension is a syrup of Mefenamic Acid 100 mg and Paracetamol 250 mg for pain relief and fever reduction. Main uses: relief of mild to moderate pain; short-term relief of pain from headache and toothache; relief of muscular aches and body aches; relief of minor aches of backache and joint pain; temporary reduction of fever.

Common side effects of Mefojem P DS Suspension include nausea; vomiting; abdominal pain; diarrhoea; constipation; indigestion (dyspepsia). Get medical help at once if you notice bleeding, ulceration or perforation of the stomach or intestines; severe skin reactions with blisters or reddening of the skin; severe liver damage from taking too much paracetamol.

Mefenamic Acid in the syrup lowers the level of prostaglandins, the substances that carry pain and swelling signals, so aches and inflammation ease. Paracetamol works on the body's pain and temperature centres, which helps reduce aches and bring down fever. Together the two ingredients act on pain and fever in plain, complementary ways.

Must not be used by patients allergic to mefenamic acid, paracetamol or any other ingredient of this medicine. Must not be used by patients who have had asthma, urticaria or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. Must not be used around the time of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, and must not be used together with any other medicine that contains paracetamol. Must not be used from 30 weeks of pregnancy, and must generally be avoided from 20 weeks of pregnancy; if use is being considered at any stage of pregnancy, the patient must be under a doctor's care. Check with a doctor first if there is liver disease, if the patient is taking warfarin, or if the patient is breastfeeding.
