Description

From Vibcare Pharma's Prima division comes Mefovas P DS Suspension, a syrup that contains Mefenamic Acid 100 mg and Paracetamol 250 mg. It falls in the analgesic and anti-inflammatory (NSAID) class, and it is packed as 60ml.

How it works

The way it works is through its two ingredients. Mefenamic Acid blocks the production of prostaglandins at the site of pain and swelling, which helps settle aches and inflammation. Paracetamol, for its part, relieves pain and reduces fever by acting on the pain and temperature regulating centres of the body.

Used for

Mefovas P DS Suspension is used for the relief of mild to moderate pain, including headache, toothache, body and muscular aches, minor joint and back pain, and premenstrual and menstrual cramps, and for temporary reduction of fever. Because it contains an NSAID, there is a risk of heart attack or stroke and of serious bleeding, ulceration or perforation of the stomach or intestines, which can occur at any time and without warning. From 20 weeks of pregnancy it must generally be avoided, and from 30 weeks it must be avoided; where use is being considered, the patient must be under a doctor's care.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
