Common side effects of Glimcod M2 Tablet include low blood sugar (hypoglycemia); nausea; dizziness; headache; weakness (asthenia); diarrhoea and stomach discomfort. Get medical help at once if you notice lactic acidosis with metformin (rare but serious; symptoms include weakness, muscle pain, breathing difficulty, sleepiness and abdominal pain); severe hypoglycemia; hemolytic anemia in patients with G6PD deficiency.

Must not be used for type 1 diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis. Must not be used by patients allergic to glimepiride, metformin or any ingredient of the tablet. Must not be used by patients who have had an allergic reaction to sulfonamide derivatives. Must not be used in severe renal impairment (eGFR below 30 mL/min/1.73 m2) or in metabolic acidosis. Check with a doctor first if you have kidney or liver problems, drink alcohol heavily, are elderly, have G6PD deficiency, or are undergoing surgery or imaging with contrast dye.
