About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Glimcod M4 tablets contain Glimepiride 4 mg and Metformin 500 mg in a single tablet. The medicine falls in the sulfonylurea and biguanide class of antidiabetics and comes packed as 10x15 (Blister) from Vibcare Pharma's Medanor division.

How it works

The two ingredients lower blood sugar by different routes. Glimepiride works at the pancreas and stimulates the release of insulin into the blood. Metformin is a biguanide; it cuts down the glucose released by the liver and improves the body's response to its own insulin.

Used for

This medicine is prescribed as an addition to diet and exercise for glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Important risks are severe hypoglycemia from glimepiride and, rarely, lactic acidosis from metformin, whose warning signs include muscle pain, breathing difficulty, sleepiness and abdominal pain.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
