About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Viglim M2 is a tablet made by Vibcare Pharma and contains Glimepiride 2 mg and Metformin 500 mg. It is an anti-diabetic medicine, packed as 10x15 (Blister). This product comes from Vibcare Pharma's C.U.R.E. division.

How it works

Glimepiride works by encouraging the pancreas to release insulin, which helps move sugar from the blood into the body's cells. Metformin lowers the sugar produced by the liver and helps the body make good use of its own insulin. Together the two actions support steadier blood sugar through the day.

Used for

The tablets are used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with diet and exercise. Glimepiride can cause severe low blood sugar, with shakiness, sweating, dizziness and confusion. Metformin can very rarely cause lactic acidosis, marked by weakness, muscle pain, breathing difficulty, sleepiness or abdominal pain; this needs urgent medical help.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
