About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Packed as 10x15 (Blister), Glimiver M2 tablets are made by Vibcare Pharma and carry Glimepiride 2 mg and Metformin 500 mg in each tablet. The product is placed in the anti-diabetic class and belongs to Vibcare Pharma's Evermed division.

How it works

Each tablet works through two separate routes. Glimepiride prompts the pancreas to release more insulin, so sugar from the blood is taken up by the cells. Metformin acts on the liver to reduce the sugar it releases and also improves the way the body responds to insulin. The two actions together help keep blood sugar at a steadier level.

Used for

Doctors use these tablets to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an addition to diet and exercise. Severe hypoglycemia is a risk with glimepiride and may show up as sweating, shakiness, dizziness or confusion. Metformin is linked to a rare but serious build-up of lactic acid in the blood, with weakness, muscle pain, breathing difficulty, sleepiness or abdominal pain. They are not meant for type 1 diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
