About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Jempoglim M1 is an anti-diabetic tablet from the Auspin division of Vibcare Pharma. The composition in each tablet is Glimepiride 1 mg and Metformin 500 mg. Pack size for the product is 10x15 (Blister).

How it works

Two different roles are at work here. Glimepiride acts on the pancreas and pushes it to release insulin, which lowers the glucose in the bloodstream. Metformin, meanwhile, cuts down the glucose produced by the liver and improves the action of insulin in the body's tissues. Taken together, the two ingredients complement each other in lowering blood glucose.

Used for

The tablets are used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with diet and exercise. Severe hypoglycemia is a known risk of glimepiride and calls for care in elderly or renally impaired patients and with other anti-diabetic drugs. Metformin carries a risk of lactic acidosis, mainly in kidney impairment, heavy alcohol use, dehydration, liver disease, contrast scans, surgery or low-oxygen states.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
