About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

Glimiver M1 tablets are marketed by Vibcare Pharma and come from the Evermed division. Every tablet carries Glimepiride 1 mg with Metformin 500 mg, two anti-diabetic medicines in one dosage form. It is supplied as tablets, packed as 10x15 (Blister).

How it works

In this combination, Glimepiride encourages the beta cells of the pancreas to secrete insulin, so more insulin is available to clear glucose from the blood. Metformin lowers the amount of glucose the liver makes and improves how well insulin works in muscle and other tissues. Working in these different ways, the two ingredients support one another in lowering blood sugar.

Used for

Glimiver M1 is meant for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as an addition to diet and exercise for improving glycemic control. Severe hypoglycemia can occur with glimepiride, mainly in the elderly, in renal impairment and when insulin or other blood sugar lowering medicines are taken together. Rarely, metformin causes lactic acidosis, with kidney problems, heavy alcohol intake, dehydration, liver disease, contrast dye scans, surgery or low oxygen states adding to the risk.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
