About the product
By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references
Viglim M 0.5 is an anti-diabetic tablet from Vibcare Pharma. Each tablet contains Glimepiride 0.5 mg and Metformin 500 mg, combining a sulfonylurea and a biguanide. Viglim M 0.5 is packed as 10x10 (Blister) and is supplied from Vibcare Pharma's C-U-R-E division.
Glimepiride works by prompting the pancreas to release more insulin, which carries sugar from the blood into the cells. Metformin reduces the amount of sugar made in the liver and helps the body use its own insulin. Taken together, the two ingredients help improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.
Viglim M 0.5 is used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin can rarely cause lactic acidosis, with symptoms such as weakness, muscle pain, breathing difficulty, sleepiness and abdominal pain; the risk is higher with kidney or liver problems, heavy alcohol intake, older age and scans with contrast dye, so tell the doctor before any such imaging.
Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
