About the product

By Vibcare Pharma · Updated 9 October 2026 · Based on product labels and standard drug references

Description

An oral tablet, Viglim M3 contains Glimepiride 3 mg and Metformin 500 mg as its two active ingredients. The combination belongs to the sulfonylurea and biguanide group of anti-diabetic medicines. It is packed as 10x15 (Blister) and is supplied by Vibcare Pharma from one of its divisions.

How it works

Glimepiride in the tablet acts on the pancreas, helping it release insulin so that blood sugar is taken up by the cells. Metformin works mainly on the liver, lowering the sugar it produces, and also helps the body respond to insulin. Together, the two support blood sugar control through separate actions.

Used for

This medicine is meant for use with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Low blood sugar may occur and can become severe, and metformin can rarely cause lactic acidosis.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.
