Description

Moxivib CV 625 Tablet is a tablet that contains Amoxycillin 500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg. It falls in the class of penicillin antibiotics combined with a beta-lactamase inhibitor (antibacterial). The pack is 10x6 (Alu Alu) and the product comes from Vibcare Pharma's Prima division.

How it works

Amoxycillin works by stopping susceptible bacteria from building their cell walls, so they cannot stay alive. Clavulanic acid supports it by blocking the beta-lactamase enzyme that some bacteria produce to defend themselves against penicillins, which allows amoxycillin to carry on acting against those bacteria. The two together help cover infections caused by beta-lactamase-producing organisms.

Used for

This tablet is used for lower respiratory tract infections, acute bacterial otitis media, sinusitis, skin and skin structure infections and urinary tract infections caused by susceptible bacteria.

Use only on a doctor's prescription, at the dose and for the duration advised.

Uses

  • Used only when laboratory tests show the bacteria produce beta-lactamase; it is not the choice when bacteria respond to amoxycillin alone

Precautions
