Viblistin 1 MIU is a colistimethate sodium injection used for serious infections caused by sensitive gram-negative bacteria. Main uses: treatment of acute or chronic infections caused by sensitive strains of certain gram-negative bacilli; infections caused by sensitive strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa; infections caused by Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae; to start therapy in serious infections suspected to be caused by gram-negative organisms.

Common side effects of Viblistin 1 MIU Injection include stomach upset; tingling or numbness of the extremities, lips or tongue; dizziness or vertigo; slurred speech; itching, urticaria or rash; fever. Get medical help at once if you notice kidney damage (nephrotoxicity) and decreased urine output; respiratory distress or stopped breathing (apnea); severe allergic reaction including anaphylaxis.
